What is the water softener?

An ion exchange water softening device is a system designed to remove calcium (Ca²⁺) and magnesium (Mg²⁺ions from hard water through a chemical exchange process. It utilizes resin beads saturated with sodium (Na⁺) ions, which replace the hardness ions in water, effectively reducing scale formation and improving water quality.
