What is Ultrapure Water?
Ultra pure water, also known as high-purity water, represents water meticulously purified to the utmost clarity, with virtually all conductive substances eliminated. It is free of colloidal content, gases, and organic material that do not dissociate. The salt content is astoundingly minimal, under 0.1mg/L, and the conductivity is impressively below 0.1 μs/cm.
Pure and ultrapure water are characterized not only by stringent regulations on salt content or conductivity but also by rigorous constraints regarding the presence of metal ions, organic substances, particle size and count, and microbial presence.
What is EDI (Electrodeionization)?
EDI represents a cutting-edge ultrapure water generation technology that emerged in the 1990s. This innovative method seamlessly combines the principles of electrodialysis and ion exchange, facilitating targeted ion migration to a concentrated chamber using a direct current electric field. Cation exchange membranes and ion exchange resins work in harmony to achieve profound water desalination, resulting in ultrapure water. Concurrently, water molecules are split into hydrogen and hydroxide ions, rejuvenating the resin without the conventional need for chemical regeneration.
